Easily the biggest and most anticipated opening party on the White Isle, the first night of the new Space season is always a big event. This year it’s been fueled by the best in new amplifier technology as APA did the business, powering the whole “Flight Club” outdoor dance area with Funktion One’s brand new Evo 7 system. Split across just five amplifiers, with over 40kW dedicated to bass and sub-bass, APA was exclusively used for 10 gruelling hours of full-on decadance and performed flawlessly in the summer heat.
Olly Wayman, CEO of Audio Hire Ibiza who specc’ed and supplied the system, was thrilled with the results.
“I had the opportunity to trial APA in the UK at an outdoor dance event in Liverpool a few weeks ago, and the performance was so exceptional that I just had to use them with the new Funktion One system.”
APA was configured on-site using the new network control software designed specifically for the platform, and both Tony Andrews of Funktion One and our very own Richard Fleming were on site to ensure that the new combination of Evo 7 and APA were set-up to perform at their very best.
Richard commented “The power available was breathtaking – the amps just went on and on all night long – not just all note long! The Evo 7 system sounds amazing and the levels achievable with so few boxes will please a lot of people. The two were made for each other.
APAs were just as happy driving the bottom end of things too, with a mammoth number of subs being effortlessly handled with, as Richard mentioned, “no loss of power as the night wore on”.
“This was a tough test in real world conditions and the amplifiers just worked!”
